I had this carburetor on my 2004 KTM 300 EXC. It worked well at medium to large throttle openings, anything else and the carb's idle circuit would make it too rich and blubbery.
There is no set screw to adjust the throttle slide for idle speed; it is a bleed circuit that is adjusted by turning the choke know. This carb may work well on other bikes, but the 300 has a long history of jetting troubles - this carb guarantees fouled plugs.
Replaced with a 38mm PWK AIrstryker from a 2005 KTM 250 sx (regular PWK carbs are too long to fit the KTM - the PWM is a shorter carb and works) The 250SX carb is the correct size (shrter, flange-to-flange) and works flawlessly.
I would strongly recommend NOT using a PWM carb on a 2004 300 EXC (the only benchmark and experience I have).
